Rick and I took on the task of watching Ryan Slingerland for a week while my sister took a much needed vacation in myrtle beach. It was a lot of fun, it was not always easy... But it was fun.
It was a joy to get to know him a little bit better, he is a pretty sweet kid. At the beginning of the week I wasn't sure what I had signed myself up for, Ethan was terrified of this boy that was taking over his house. Ryan had the power to make Ethan cry with one loud shriek, and he knew it. By day 3 Ethan had figured it out, no more Mr. Nice guy. Ryan would scream, Ethan would scream back. Ryan would take his toy, Ethan would "try" to take Ryan's toy.
Hehehe.. One thing that was funny....
Lunch time... Ethan would eat his food, and then if he was still hungry he would reach over to Ryan's highchair and take what he wanted.... Needless to say this brought on more screaming... And the cycle would begin. We had a good week and by the end Ethan and Ryan were inseparable. When Ryan left I noticed a change in Ethan... He was lonely:-( He had lost a friend.
I think that it was a really good thing for Ethan... He better get use to sharing the spotlight.
We Miss you Ryan.
