Well.... as most of you probably know Ethan is attached to his blankie. It goes where he goes, it does what he does. It even takes the odd bath with him.... heheh... I can't even get it away long enough to put it through the wash.
Yesterday we traveled out to Shedden for Ethan's one year needles (which was more painful for me than him I think) and then we went to visit grandma (my mom), since Rick was working late we stayed until 8:30 or so. I was going to put blankie in the diaper bag with everything else... but no Ethan would NOT allow it. So I put blankie on the top of Abby's car seat, and carried her out to the car. On the way home I had to stop because Abby was SO upset! I pulled over on the side of the road, got out and gave her a soother.
And away we went.
Well....we get home, I unload the kids, and I tell Ethan its time for bed and he needs to get his blankie....... and blankie is NO where to be found! Not in the car, not on the car seat, not in the house. So I called my mom thinking that maybe it was left on the way out. Nope.
Remembering that I had stopped on the way home I was imagining blankie lying in the middle of hwy 3 covered by the cold snow... poor poor blankie.
Since we didn't know where else to look my mom decided to go for a drive... lol. (you'd understand if you ever had a kid in love with something that much). Well luckily... on her way to the car she saw a lump covered in snow in there lane way... IT WAS BLANKIE!!
Hoping I wouldn't have to drive out and pick it up in the middle of the night I put Ethan to bed (he survived) and my mom brought him back to Ethan today.
Sorry if I bored you, I was bored.

I'm very glad for Ethan's sake (and more for yours) that you found Blankie. I just don't know what he would ever do without it!!
LOL - too funny! Josh has a teddybear that he was very attached to when he was younger - it's falling apart now, so I wish I had gotten two of them at the time. We lost it in the move this summer, and he went through a few tragic nights, but eventually he got through it. We found it a few months later in a rubbermaid tote that hadn't been unpacked right away, and he was just thrilled to see it. He's not as attached to it now as he was before that, so it's not too big of a deal if he loses it for a night anymore.
You should buy another blankie if you still can, just for situations like that... and so that you can wash them!
Phew! You had me in a near panic by the end of that story! Do that again and you might make this baby come!
BTW having a second one doesn't always work. Nana has a spare frog (for Mia)at her house and it's not good enough when she sleeps there. I suppose if we lost the real one though the spare may come in handy.
That is cute! It is amazing how attached kids can be to blankets and bears. Seth has a blues clues blanket and a teddy bear and he is still attached to them. He won't go to sleep until they are in his arms.
Oh no! We would be in the same situation with Jordan if we lost her blankie! LOL Thankfully I made an extra one and so we have enough in case one gets lost or forgotten somewhere. Jordan is the same way though, she can't go anywhere without taking her blankie with her. If she knows we are going into the car she runs and grabs her blankie right away!
Cailyn had her original blanket cut into 4 so I could wash it. Grandma has a similar one if we forget...which does cut it, but it's "grandma's blanket" and I finally found 2 more similar to it after Jared was born(one is pink and she decided it was Jared's because her's is white LOL). ...oh and Jared already has it that he won't fall asleep without his Thomas blanket...so I really get the whole blanket thing!
Good thing you found it. And start shopping for a spare!
Savannah says hi to Ethan. She couldn't stop looking at his picture and I wanted to keep reading the story. Yikes, that is amazing that you found it back!
I remember when Megan lost her blankie one Christmas. For 2 weeks I had a miserable little girl, than finally she stopped asking for it. When we took the tree down, there it was stuck behind it. I threw it out! I wasn't going to go through that again!
